Employers may require a candidate to meet the “minimum qualifications” required for the position before granting an interview. Minimum qualifications are usually clearly stated in application documents and job description and tend to be very specific – a certain number of years of experience, a degree in a particular field, or a replacement for experience and training that otherwise match the minimum qualifications. You can compare European qualification levels and also receive information on specific qualifications attesting to these levels in national frameworks. The range of vocational qualifications includes national vocational qualifications (NVQs) based on competences that can be acquired in the workplace, at university or through apprenticeships. They are based on national standards for different occupations and cover practical work-related tasks designed to help learners perform work effectively. NVQs are located at levels 1 to 7 of the RQF. Basic degrees are college degrees that combine university education with on-the-job learning. They were jointly developed by universities, colleges and employers and are available in a range of work-related topics. They largely correspond to the first two years of a bachelor`s degree or ordinary national diploma/certificate You can also contact the UK National Academic Recognition Information Centre (UK NARIC) to compare a UK qualification with another qualification outside the UK.

Experience is the end result, especially if you`re applying for a non-entry-level position. Even unpaid work, such as managing the cash register at your club`s thrift store, can count. The interviewer wants to know if your previous work experience meets the needs of their business. The Qualifications section is not the place to list individual employers, but to talk about what you have learned or accomplished in these jobs. For example, if you`re applying for a supervisory position in manufacturing, you might mention that you often worked as a surrogate master in your last job, or that you were rewarded for excellent production. This tells the screening officer that a previous employer thought you were trustworthy and qualified enough to take responsibility. These options are based on the standard UK undergraduate grading system: first (1), upper second class (2.1), lower second class (2.2) and third (3).
When the initials P, M and D are proposed as results, they refer to “Achievement”, “Merit” and “Distinction”. Higher education degrees are included in the Higher Education Qualifications Framework (FHEQ). The FHEQ corresponds to levels 4 to 8 of the RQF. Scotland has its own education system and its own twelve-tier system, the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework. These can also be assimilated to the European Qualifications Framework. Education is about learning skills and knowledge. It also means helping people learn how to do things and helping them think about what they`re learning. It is also important for educators to find ways to find and use information.
Education needs research to understand how it can be improved.   HNC (Higher National Certificates) and HND (Higher National Diplomas) are qualifications of higher vocational education. Most applications include a section on qualifications, although what the employer considers “qualifications” can vary widely. Some employers include experience, education and general values as qualifications, while others limit qualifications to specific certifications and professional licenses. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is an internationally recognised qualification for students aged 16-19. It is based on a detailed academic study of a variety of topics.
The student must take at least one language, one science, mathematics, English and one humanity. The sixth option can be used to pursue an artistic subject (theatre, music, art, etc.) or another language, science or humanity. The IB also includes a Core of Theory of Knowledge (ToK), a CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) and the Extended Essay (EE). This results in a single qualification. Four qualifications are used in the UK: Postgraduate qualifications are higher education diplomas at FHEQ levels 7 or 8/SCQF levels 11 or 12, which require learners to have already completed a bachelor`s degree. Most postgraduate degrees include elements of teaching and research and are defined as `taught` or `research qualifications`, whichever is predominant. While all UK universities have taught degree-granting power and taught can award postgraduate degrees, only institutions with research degree-granting authority can award research degrees. In addition, primary qualifications in medicine (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery), dentistry (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and Veterinary Science (Bachelor of Veterinary Science), as well as integrated master`s degrees (e.g., Master of Engineering, Master of Physics, etc.) Bachelor`s degree programs leading to postgraduate degrees (FHEQ level 7 / SCQF level 11). The Scottish Master`s degree and the Master`s degree from Oxbridge are not postgraduate qualifications.
In the United Kingdom, most qualifications acquired through work, school, college or university fall into one of nine levels (12 in Scotland). The higher the level, the more difficult it is to qualify. The levels are based on the standards of knowledge, skills and competences required for each qualification. Qualifications of the same level can vary considerably in terms of content and duration. Some employers think of “qualifications” as the general list of values, skills, abilities and training required for all general positions in a company. For example, UNICEF`s general professional qualifications require core values such as “diversity and inclusion, integrity and commitment”. Other qualifications include basic skills – skills in specific areas such as communication – and special educational and language requirements. If a company with general qualifications asks about “qualifications” in the application, the applicant should discuss how their previous work experience and community involvement demonstrate their core values and competencies. Candidates should carefully review the job posting, as it usually lists the required qualifications.
Candidates must complete the application with the job advertisement and description as a reference to ensure that they demonstrate the skills and competencies sought by the employer. Use contextual cues to determine the right approach – the type of qualification the employer is looking for can often be determined by the demand itself. If the form includes a “Qualifications” section that contains a blank table with columns such as “Institution” and “Qualification Acquired”, it is clear that the employer is focusing more on academic achievement and certifications. If the employer has a separate section for education, work experience and qualifications, and then provides a blank field to enter text under the heading “Qualifications”, the employer is more likely to try to identify the general skills, values, experience and competencies that qualify the candidate for the particular job. Informal education is less organized.  This may include a parent teaching a child how to prepare a meal or ride a bike. People can also get informal education by reading many books from a library or educational websites. This can also be called self-education. Some fairly famous men were largely self-taught, such as Alfred Russell Wallace.
If you can`t find exact matches for your qualification name, domain, or other details, you should choose the closest match. The academic department will always review your transcripts when evaluating your application, so an exact match is not required. You will then need to select the most specific option in the “Actual/Expected Outcome” field (i.e. the overall grade of your degree). The options available in this list depend on the skill type you selected in the previous question. For example, if you select `UK Bachelor of Arts Honours undergraduate degree` as the qualification type, the following options are available as `Ist/Expected Outcome`: BTEC qualifications, in particular Level 3, are accepted by many universities (with the exception of Cambridge and Oxford, unless combined with more qualifications) when assessing candidates` suitability for admission, and these universities can base their conditional admission offers on a student`s expected BTEC grades. Non-formal education includes basic adult education, adult literacy or preparation for school equivalence.
